There comes a time when waking up at 4am just doesn't feel weird anymore. I've reached that point.
A friend of mine at school asked me the other day what the first big purchase I was going to make when this was all done, and I could have a job again. She actually was surprised and shocked when I told her I was gonna buy tits.
Yep, tits.
I don't know why people think it's weird that I would want such things. I mean.. boobs might be nice. I could rest my cereal bowl on them in the morning..
I've done my research. I know what it would cost, and what I'd be getting into, and hell, pretty much even what size (No, sorry, I'm not going for D's) which would look proportionate to the level of hip/waist ratio I have.
You'd think after living nearly 30 years of my life flat-chested would give me reason to want to be able to wear a bikini top, or be able to fit into a nice dress I find at the store without having to compensate or alter. Hell, 99% of the time, I can't even buy matching underwear because I can never find a bra small enough for me.
In other news, I am seriously sick of homework. This will pass, I hope.
Good night, Internet land. Here's your Haiku.

These will be available in 2010. For a philatelic hobbyist, this is delightful. For a super obsessive britpop fan, this is huge. I am both and I am totally freaking out. I cannot believe it. The Royal Mail is the coolest postal system in the world now.
Wow.
No Smiths or Morrissey, but Blur, Primal Scream and New Order makes up for it. Those are genuinely iconic album covers. Amazing. I am so excited. I will buy all of these and get them mounted and framed.

I can't believe my baby boy is already 3 months old! Well, he's actually 3.5 months old, because I'm late in writing this entry.
We're getting more sleep at night, though he's a hungry, hungryhippoboy. He smiles a lot, and is beginning to "talk" -- Eric says that he might have said "ok" last month, and Birdie still talks about how he talked in his green chair. He's been vocalizing consonants lately, getting into conversations with me, mostly saying "buuh buh buhh." This evening, though, he said, "mmmm ahhh mmm" and I am so proud!
He is a drool factory. I've got all of Birdie's old drool bibs out, and he's got some new ones of his own as well. He can soak a bib pretty quickly. I think it may be the start of teething, as he chomped down on me while he was feeding. I don't feel anything sharp on his gums yet, but it may be time for one of those baby gum massager/toothbrush things. He's not so happy with the new pacifiers I got him, which are firmer than the newborn pacifiers he'd been using, but again, it may be helpful when he's teething. And of course there's Sophie la girafe, who is actually a teething toy.
Oh, and his big hands are so grabby! Most of the time he's grabbing my hair, which is unfortunate because I'm experiencing the lovely postpartum hair loss right now. He also likes to hold hands, which is quite pleasant. In the car Birdie likes to reach into the opening on the side of his carseat to hold hands with him. It's so sweet.
He rolled over from back to stomach the other day. Uh oh.
My little guy is growing up so fast!

... of my twitter posts. Well, I guess it's a way for you to keep up on my busy, busy life, or just commentary about cats, I guess.
Let me see, what else has been happening recently?
Let me see, what else has been happening recently?
- Socks. I finally figured out how to make socks, and I have been making many, many socks. Someone at work got us these nice knitpicks size 1 needles, and they are SO MUCH better than the bamboo ones I had been using.
- Alias. I am now in Season 4. I will likely finish the season sometime before the end of the year.
- Working out. I need to get my rear in gear and lose the 5 lbs I gained this year and the 5 lbs I gained LAST year. Ugh.
- Thanksgiving. Happened! Lots of food, I messed up the turkey, but the sides were great.
- Transfer. So as most of you heard, I got transferred to a new team. Turns out I won't have to go to SJ more often than once or twice a week, so I'm very, supremely, totally happy about that. I thought I was going to have to "ramp up" in December by going to SJ four times a week, but we just got linked into a new project that my manager thought was urgent, and so he instructed me to be in SF (yay!) to start learning the system, because they're ALL HERE. Yay for sun and big windows!
- Getting my rear in gear, spiritually. Something happened these past two weeks, where I was just inconsistent with some of my core spiritual practices, particularly prayer. This is one area where I've really worked on getting more disciplined, and I really thought I had it all down... until all of the drama in November. Funny how having your world rocked also rocks the thing you need most at the time.
- Cats. One of my co-workers asked me, "Whatever did you do before you had cats?" I honestly don't know. We have two of the most lovable, cuddly cats ever. They don't scratch, they don't bite, they're adorable, and they make us laugh every single day. I need to get Luna to exercise a little more before she turns into a balloon, but that's probably the only problem they have.
- Martial arts. I've been mentoring again, and meeting almost weekly with a couple of our brown and red belts. There's something encouraging about seeing someone improve, and even more the sense of accomplishment they have when they have mastered something, or gotten reassurance that they don't need to have everything perfect to be able to test. I guess it's like high school students, just without the hormonal drama. I always said that the older the student, the better for me.
- Events. Let me see... November had my 15 year reunion, Celebration Sunday, and Thanksgiving.

- work on throws
- work on spinning and turning kicks
- work on jumping and flying kicks
- overall cardiovascular fitness
- ramping up my sparring

I love my Sony Reader! For those of us that have totally run out of space for physical books, this is the way to go! I also like it because a lot of the books I read are a one time read. Now I don't have to worry about storing books that aren't my favorites. Of course, my favorites such as the Twilight series and Lord of the Rings are a physical book deal and always will be. I'm a little bummed over the prices. One would think since you are not getting a physical book it would be a lot cheaper. Not the case. So far, there is a savings of like a dollar or whatever is on special. /shrugs I still like the option to have the books on the reader. The battery life is outta control. It can last for weeks if you use the right shut down option.
