music: Silverstein - Worlds Apart

No, it's not about she and I. But it's about something I believe she can appreciate. A lot.

Lyrics, of course... )

It's a good song.

My Indecipherable

mood: determined determined
music: the listed song, duh

Reminiscent of a fictional character I helped to invent...

A song for Vivian (the fictional girl):

"True Romance"
I'm not here to judge you,
I'm just here to tell you what you have done wrong.
Beautiful girl looking her best, takes off a towel,
Puts on a dress.
Fixes her hair to look good for someone.
Waits in a car to go to a motel.
...to a motel.

I may not always be perfect.
But I'll always try.
Will you say your prayers, just to be honest with yourself?
Will you save your soul? Is this what you wanted all along?
Husband can't bear to just lie to himself.
Stock market falls and he loses it all,
He sleeps alone for the third time this week.
He's become numb, he just wants this to be.

I may not always be perfect.
But I'll always try.
Will you say your prayers, just to be honest with yourself?
Will you save your soul? Is this what you wanted all along?

Blood on the floor.
What have you done?
Heart in your hands.
What have you done?

I may not always be perfect.
But I'll always try.
Will you say your prayers, just to be honest with yourself?
Will you save your soul? Is this what you wanted all along?

Beautiful girl sleeps by herself.
Half the bed's cold, she knows it's her fault.
She's given in and admitted defeat.
She'll be fine.

music: Silverstein - Your Sword Versus My Dagger

I really don't post on here very often. In part, this is a result of the simple fact that I feel like I've grown increasingly stupid over the last year or so. I need a more challenging job, that's for sure.

But I will post now that Fall Out Boy's "Infinity on High" has become a quasi-guilty pleasure of mine. Why quasi-guilty, you ask? Because I cannot ignore just how much their lyricist... overreaches at times.

Silverstein, however, like Thrice, I have no guilt over enjoying immensely. Though, so far, I really only like one album from each.

But that enjoyment I can understand. What's got me baffled is my ongoing affection for the two Juno Reactor album's I've downloaded. Minus two of the tracks from "Shango", I'm enjoying them(/him) immensely. This is apparently called "World Music."

I hosted an "Anime Night" last Saturday. It seems to have pretty much been a unanimous success. Great Teacher Onizuka was a huge hit, which surprised me a little, and then I remembered why I hadn't watched it since I first saw it at AX: because it was so popular that they kept showing it over and over... and over... and over... I and my AX cohorts, especially Mike, had seen the first four episodes so many times I was sick of them. (Especially since Macross Zero had just released episode 4 in Japan -- I was completely livid that I wasn't seeing more of that.) But that was over four years ago, so...
